Old Men Getting it On: Joe Kapp and Angelo Mosca Fight
November 30, 2011 in Football, Sports
It’s not very often you will see CFL content posted on NewsFlask.com. Then again, it’s not very often there’s a fight between two 73-year-old ex-CFL players caught on tape. Former Hamilton Tigers-Cats’ DT Angelo Mosca and former B.C Lions’ QB Joe Kapp still haven’t forgotten about the controversial game ending hit on Lions’ RB Willie Fleming in the 1963 Grey Cup that helped Hamilton claim victory over the B.C Lions 21-10.
During the 2011 CFL alumni luncheon ceremony, highlights from the 1963 game were being played in the background during Angelo and Joe’s introduction, and apparently both players still haven’t been able to let it go. Then out of nowhere, the most unexpected thing happened – seemingly right out of a “Grumpy Old Men” sequel.
Bloody marvelous! I can say without a doubt this is the single greatest video clip I have seen in the past year. The cane to the face and the death punch to throat were my favorite parts. Kidding aside, these fragile foes could have gotten seriously hurt.
I have no clue if the actual 2011 Grey Cup game offered as much entertainment as the “pre-game festivities”, but I do know that the B.C Lions won. So, yeah, congratulations!
