Biggest Buzz for your Buck! 2011-12 NHL Beer Prices

December 8, 2011 in beer, Booze, hockey, Sports

We just hit the 2nd week of December, and that translates to about 28 games played per team in the NHL.  Why is this specific milestone significant?

Well, it’s isn’t, but it does mean the National League (NHL) has generated about $97 million in gross revenue thus far off of sales.

The NHL has recently signed a deal with the newly formed barley behemoth, Molson Coors, to make their number one selling beer, Coors’ Light, the official beer of the National Hockey League. The cost? The paltry sum of $375 million. This may seem extremely excessive, and hell, it is. But the NHL has projected beer sales this year in excess of $285 million USD.   That works out to roughly 444,000,000 ounces of frosty cold brew being consumed throughout 1230 games this season.

But the question remains, what arena is offering the biggest buzz for the buck?  Check out the beer price guide below, made by the beer price police over at Save On Brew. (Click the pic to expand)

Looks like you’re in luck if you plan on attending any Buffalo Sabres games.  They are offering 16 delicious ounces for the mere price of $5.00.  That’s about what you would pay at the pub.  As for the level of hockey you’ll be forced to watch?  That’s a different story all together, you’re going to have dish out at least $7 bucks to see a decent home team hit the ice.
